PoSH Act: Empower Women to Speak Up About Their Grievances without Fear

  "Harassment is about power---the undue exercise of power by a superior over a subordinate." - Michael Crichton Sexual harassment at the workplace is regarded as a violation of women's right to equality, life and liberty. It establishes a contentious and insecure work environment, which hinders women's participation in jobs. Therefore, it adversely affects their economic and social empowerment and the objective of comprehensive growth.  Looking further into this issue that has been deteriorating the capabilities of women the legislative came up with a strong law. The Indian legislature formulated the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013. Touching, asking for a sexual favour, grabbing, displaying offensive material and offensive comments come under Sexual harassment.  Under this Act, a person working in the company is required to abide by the laws under the India PoSH Act .
