India PoSH Act: Understanding What Sexual Harassment Is!

"She was powerful, not because she wasn't scared but because she went on so strongly despite the fear" — Atticus

India PoSH act has been working as a catalyst to solve the issue of sexual harassment and sexual assault at the workplace up to a great extent. The females have not only got protection from sexual abuse, but they have also started feeling safe to step out of their comfort zone and work at the office.

Why is PoSH Training Important?

You will be surprised to know that many people don’t know what exactly sexual harassment is. The general notion of enduring things needs to be changed.

Will it not be of tremendous help to you if you learn how to handle issues and complaints regarding PoSH law? The PoSH training is very important for being well informed about sexual abuse.

You will also learn the entire norms included in the India PoSH act of 2013. The well-informed PoSH training will help you understand the aspects of handling and dissemination of unhealthy behaviour.

Women are even subjected to torture at the workplace and it is nothing new. Being a woman, you need to learn to raise above all this by enduring it. This wrong opinion has made women shut their mouths and stay silent from sharing their stories. In addition to this, understanding what sexual harassment is and why you need to voice it and file a complaint is very important.

Internal Complaint Committee in India PoSH act

An internal complaint committee in India PoSH Act consists of the below mentioned:

Chairperson: A woman chairperson is preferred over others. She can be someone who is working at a senior level in the company. If this person is not present, any other person from the same office under the same employer needs to hold the title of a chairperson.

An External Member:  This member can be from an NGO or any other such committee for women's cause.

2 Other Members: These two members can be anyone who is committed to the cause of women. They can be someone having legal knowledge or experience in social work.

What Are the Responsibilities of An Employer According to PoSH Law?

The Employer is responsible to maintain and educate the employee about the PoSH Law India. He / she prohibits inappreciable behaviour towards other employees that counts in workplace harassment. He needs to Conduct awareness, orientation and sensitization sessions. All in all, he must ensure an extensive framework for redress.

Final Words

"I have survived. I am here. Confused, screwed up, but here. So, how can I find my way? Is there a chain saw of the soul, an ax I can take to my memories or fears?" — Speak

The world today is improving, but unfortunately, sexual harassment is still occurring every single day in workplaces. People are trying to speak about it more. However, not everywhere these discussions are reaching a level where there is a remedy.
